Top universities’ virtual career fairs to attend this fall

Looking to recruit college talent? Employers might consider attending one (or more) of these virtual career fairs this fall hosted by some of the top colleges and universities in the country.

This compilation includes scheduled virtual career fairs at local schools including George Mason University and James Madison University and reputable, out of state universities such as Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), to name a few. If you would like to tap into bright, young talent that is eager to enter the workforce, a college virtual career fair is the perfect way to retain talent already in the region or recruit Gen Z talent to Northern Virginia. 

August 2020: 

2020 Welcome2Mason Virtual Part-Time Job Fair 

  • School: George Mason University  
  • Date:  Aug. 26
  • About: Meet virtually with middle-market and boutique investment firms hiring for full-time jobs and internships in financial services for summer 2021. This career fair is open to all Georgetown University juniors and seniors. Dress code is Business.

Virtual Finance Fair (Boutique & Middle Market)

  • School: Georgetown University
  • Date:  Sept. 3
  • About: During Welcome Week, we are inviting local employers with part-time jobs to attend this fair. This fair is virtual using group video and text chat with a virtual booth for each employer.

  • School: Georgetown University
  • Date:  Sept. 10
  • About: Meet virtually with Consulting Firms from a wide variety of industries. These firms are hiring for both internships and full-time positions beginning summer 2021. This career fair is open to all Georgetown University juniors and seniors. Dress code is Business.

VIRTUAL AU Job & Internship Fair

  • School: America University
  • Date:  Sept. 16
  • About: Each semester, the AU Job & Internship Fair attracts more than 110 public, private, and nonprofit organizations eager to recruit AU students and alumni. The AU Job and Internship Fair is open to AU students and alumni and registered employers only.

College of Integrated Science and Engineering Virtual Career & Internship Fair

  • School: James Madison University
  • Date:  Sept. 16
  • About: Our fair gives organizations an opportunity to connect with and recruit our biotech, computer science, engineering, geographic science, intelligence analysis and integrated science and technology students. Complementing their strong technical background, our students also focus on the human element of STEM and the context in which STEM solutions are implanted in our society and around the globe.  Our graduates stand ready to take on the challenges facing us now and in the future and they’re prepared to use their STEM knowledge and toolkit wisely as they enter a variety of professions.

Health, Science, Analytics, & Tech Virtual Career Fair

  • School: Georgetown University
  • Date:  Sept. 17
  • About: This event is offered exclusively for degree-seeking Georgetown University students and degreed alumni of Georgetown University. All majors are welcome. This fair will focus on industries and skillsets in health, science, technology, and/or quantitative analysis. Registration is required in order to sign up for specific employer sessions.

Undergrad Business School

  • School: University of Maryland
  • Date:  Sept. 17 & Sept. 18 
  • About: The Smith School Office of Career Services is excited to host its annual fall Smith Undergraduate Career Fair – virtually! This event brings together top employers and talented undergraduates from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. This year’s fair will be a two-day virtual event, with full-time hiring happening on day one and externship and internship hiring happening on day two. The fair on Sept. 17 is for full-time entry-level hires. The second fair (on Sept. 18) is for externships and internships.

  • About: The University of Maryland’s Department of Computer Science Internship and Career Fair is a bi-annual event in which over 130 high-profile companies gather to meet undergraduate, graduate, and PhD computer science students who are looking for challenging and rewarding internships, co-ops, and full-time careers that will value and foster their technical capabilities.

  • School: Stanford University 
  • Date:  Sept. 22-24
  • About: In response to the changing way that we work and look for work, Stanford has pivoted our traditional Fall Career Fair into a 3-day Virtual experience.Each day will feature different employers (some may overlap) with a focus on different types of roles and industries.
    • DAY 1: Employers with roles or industries that fit with consulting, creative work, education, finance, and non-profit.
    • DAY 2: Employers with roles or industries that fit with aerospace, auto, energy, environment, government, healthcare, mechanical engineering, oil & gas and many more!
    • DAY 3: Employers with roles or industries that fit with tech, public interest tech, software, hardware, and all tech crossover from other days.

  • About: The virtual fair provides you a smaller and more intimate networking opportunity than a larger career fair, in which you will meet with representatives from dozens of communications-related organizations to learn about their companies, discuss your career plans and learn about possible internships and jobs. This fair is co-sponsored by the Center for Career Services, Graduate School of Political Management, School of Media & Public Affairs, and the Cawley Career Education Center at Georgetown University.
